James Sanders is a business leader with over 20 years of professional experience.
Banking & Finance experience (15 years): James currently serves as a senior vice president of commercial lending for Univest Bank. Prior to Univest Bank, James was vice president of commercial lending at Customers Bank, Cape Bank, Wachovia (now Wells Fargo), Northwestern Mutual, and The Vanguard Group.
Economic Development (7 years): In 2008, James expanded his expertise and knowledge base to work for a public-private-partnership (P3) operated by The Enterprise Center (TEC) on behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). During his time at TEC, he served in various roles from director of business development to senior director reporting directly to the President of The Enterprise Center. James left the organization as an employee in 2015 to accept a role with Cape Bank. He subsequently was nominated to serve on the Board of Directors at The Enterprise Center post-employment.

Personal background:
James was born, raised, and educated in City of Philadelphia, Pa. He is a graduate of Olney High School. He went onto attend Virginia State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics & Finance. James also received an Executive MBA from Temple University’s, Fox School of Business. He currently resides in Montgomery County, Pa with his wife (Dolores). They have two kids (young adults), a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter.
