To officially kick-off National Small Business Week 2022, Philadelphia Councilwoman Cherelle Parker, Majority Leader & 9th District, in partnership with the Pennsylvania CDFI Network held a press conference to celebrate the resiliency and tenacity of America’s entrepreneurs.

National Small Business Week is celebrated during the first week of May every year and takes place from May 1 to 7 this year. The aim of the week is to honor the entrepreneurs of our great city, region and country, who have played their part in bringing new ideas to life, and growing our economy.

The announcement highlighted small businesses along the Castor Avenue Commercial Corridor in the lower Northeast, and entrepreneurs across the city of Philadelphia. Joining in the celebration were local and state elected officials, Philadelphia Commerce Department, 11 Philadelphia based Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and small business owners who were recipients of Philadelphia County and COVID-19 Relief Pennsylvania Statewide grant awards. As proud members of the PA CDFI Network, we were on site for the kickoff, and we brought our Biz on Wheels vehicle to the party!
